In my freshmen year, I lettered in both track and cross country. I also got the Rookie of the Year Award in cross country, and the Freshmen of the Year Award in track. At regions for XC I was 7th. At state I was 65th. In track at regions I placed 3rd in the mile and 2nd in the 2 mile. At state I was 17th in the mile and 13th in the 2 mile.

Sophomore year I was a cross country captain and I lettered again. I was 3rd at regions and 12th at state. At track regions I was 3rd in the mile and the 2 mile. I also anchored the winning medley relay team.

Junior year I got a stress fracture about a month before the cross country season started, but made a great comeback with a 2nd place finish at regions.  At state I placed 6th, and I broke 19 minutes for the second time in my racing history.  Team captain again. In track I shattered my old PRs and was doing well until I got a stress reaction.  After 3 weeks off I built my strength back up and performed well at state, earning 4th in the 1600 and 5th in the 3200.  After that, I was invited to the Great Southwest Track Meet in Albuquerque, where I took 5th.

My senior year in cross country I was a captain again, this time with Amanda and Natalie.  This season I was injury free so I got to run competitively at invites.  At state I took 3rd.  At Footlocker Western Regionals I outkicked a girl on the track to finish 10th, which qualified me for nationals the next weekend.  I beat both of the girls who had beat me at state in that race.  At nationals I took 22nd and beat 6 of the girls who had beat me at regionals.  Going into the outdoor season the first Invitational I attended was the Davis Super Meet where I qualified for state in the 1600 and the 3200, and I broke the meet record for the 3200 in an 11:01.29, the previous record was an 11:17.  I had a strong finish to my senior season and finally claimed a state title.  I ran the fastest 1600 and 3200 at state for any division, claiming the double crown in those events, and earning the athlete of the year award :)

Now in college, I run for the University of Utah.  I lettered my freshman season of cross country, and made it to regionals in the 5k in track.

Sophomore year I improved in cross country.  In track I raced the 1500, 5k, 800, 10k, and the mile of the DMR before repeating the 5k at conference and then the 10k at regionals.  Placed 28th behind a lot of seniors... so nationals next year!!

This morning we did the cemetery loop.  My calves were so sore and felt really tight at the start of the run, I was running with Amanda and it took us longer to warm up.  At about 4 miles my  calves finally warmed up.  Then Amanda had to go, so I did the second lap in the cemetery by myself and ran back to the park.  Then we did 10 hills, running up and walking backwards down.  Then for cooldown I did a lap on the road in the park with Natalie.

This morning for practice we met at Cottonwood Complex.  Since we were all sore from hills yesterday we did a 5 mile warmup, similar to what we usually do but we went out to 3300s instead of 3900.  Then we did 10 rollercoasters on Big Bertha and the hill before that.  Then I did a little more than a mile cooldown to get in 8.

This morning we had practice out at Wheeler Farm.  We started out with a 2 mile warmup of a big outer loop, and then we went to the loop we did last time for fartlek.  We did a ladder of fartlek.  We did 1 minute on, 1 off, 2 on 1 off, 3 on 2 off, 4 on 3 off, 5 on 3 off, 4 on 3 off, 3 on 2 off, 2 on 1 off, 1 on (Bill didn't make us do the last minute recovery).  I was with Natalie most of the time.  I didn't start out very hard I think so I tried to push from the first 4 on through the end of the workout.  Then we ran to the drinking fountain for water and then we went back across the bridge to do 10 hill loops.  Then I did 2 of the fartlek loops for cooldown to get me up to 10.

This morning was a tough workout.  We ran on Drycreek up by the JCC.  We got our rocks and carried them up to the pile as usual.  Up until the pile I was able to keep up with Taylor and Tomy.  Then we went to the 4 mile mark for the turnaround.  I stopped before going back to look at the valley.  Then we stopped at the hill 2.5 miles in and ran that 10 times.  It was hard, but I wouldn't let myself think that and instead focused on them one at a time.  Then when I was done I ran back to the parking lot, Bill and Ben finished ahead of me.  I saw some lizards on the way back down.  Then I drank a lot of water.  Tough run today, but it feels so good to be finished.

This morning we were at Liberty.  We started with a lap warmup, and then we got into 2 groups for fireman.  I was in the fast group with the guys and Natalie and Abigail.  They were going too fast!  I fell behind as it got closer to my turn but I still stuck with the group and did my part.  Abigail dropped after one lap and I wanted to very much but I kept going.  Towards the end of the second lap the guys were pretty much all sprinting to the finish and Natalie and I fell behind, but it was only the last stretch up to the drinking fountain so we did well.  Then we did 10 hills, 5 laps on the hill behind the pond.  Because of all the hills we've been doing this week, they didn't even feel like hills.  Afterwards I just went back to the drinking fountain because I only needed 6 today.  Then I did my crunches and pushups.

This morning I got up and ran 5 miles on my own, from my house to the U campus and along the Shriner's route.  I made it to the roundabout just out of the alley for my turnaround point to hit my miles.
