In my freshmen year, I lettered in both track and cross country. I also got the Rookie of the Year Award in cross country, and the Freshmen of the Year Award in track. At regions for XC I was 7th. At state I was 65th. In track at regions I placed 3rd in the mile and 2nd in the 2 mile. At state I was 17th in the mile and 13th in the 2 mile.

Sophomore year I was a cross country captain and I lettered again. I was 3rd at regions and 12th at state. At track regions I was 3rd in the mile and the 2 mile. I also anchored the winning medley relay team.

Junior year I got a stress fracture about a month before the cross country season started, but made a great comeback with a 2nd place finish at regions.  At state I placed 6th, and I broke 19 minutes for the second time in my racing history.  Team captain again. In track I shattered my old PRs and was doing well until I got a stress reaction.  After 3 weeks off I built my strength back up and performed well at state, earning 4th in the 1600 and 5th in the 3200.  After that, I was invited to the Great Southwest Track Meet in Albuquerque, where I took 5th.

My senior year in cross country I was a captain again, this time with Amanda and Natalie.  This season I was injury free so I got to run competitively at invites.  At state I took 3rd.  At Footlocker Western Regionals I outkicked a girl on the track to finish 10th, which qualified me for nationals the next weekend.  I beat both of the girls who had beat me at state in that race.  At nationals I took 22nd and beat 6 of the girls who had beat me at regionals.  Going into the outdoor season the first Invitational I attended was the Davis Super Meet where I qualified for state in the 1600 and the 3200, and I broke the meet record for the 3200 in an 11:01.29, the previous record was an 11:17.  I had a strong finish to my senior season and finally claimed a state title.  I ran the fastest 1600 and 3200 at state for any division, claiming the double crown in those events, and earning the athlete of the year award :)

Now in college, I run for the University of Utah.  I lettered my freshman season of cross country, and made it to regionals in the 5k in track.

Sophomore year I improved in cross country.  In track I raced the 1500, 5k, 800, 10k, and the mile of the DMR before repeating the 5k at conference and then the 10k at regionals.  Placed 28th behind a lot of seniors... so nationals next year!!

Today with the team I did zoo loop.  The starting group was me, Nikki, Jessica, Bekah, Becky, Dana, and Kenzie.  Biggest group we've had in a while it feels like.  I was with Nikki and Jessica until they turned around.  I ran to Thunderbird and then turned around on Wasatch, then went through the golf course and by the post office to get back to campus.

This afternoon we went up to Park City for our long run.  Brrr!!!  The way out actually wasn't that bad, but on the way back there was the wind... On the way out I ran with Andrea and we slowly caught up to Alyssa and Becky.  I caught Becky before the others turned around so I ran the rest of the way with her.

Today I went for a run with Becky, Bekah, and Alyssa.  But mostly I was behind them since they were going just under 7:00 minute pace...  I didn't want to press, just enjoy the day off.  We ran through the golf course and then up along Wasatch.  I cut down to Foothill at Thunderbird and then kept going on the paved Shoreline trail to the freeway overpass.  I stopped to stretch for a minute and got honked at 3 times :-P  I ran back to campus along Foothill, then went up to the track to do strides and hurdle drills.  Afterwards I got a massage from Tim.

Today we had a workout half on bailiff and half on the track.  We did the usual warmup and then strides and drills on the bailiff.  The workout was six 300s and then six 200s on the track.  I ran with Andrea and AuraLea, we worked well together.  My times were 58, 56, 56, 57, 56, 55 for the 300s, then on the track for the 200s I hit 36, 35, 35, 35, 35, 34.  Recovery was at least 2 minutes, we took just a little over.  For cooldown we did the same route as warmup.  Stretched for a while afterwards.

This morning I ran on my own since I am going to a PT school info session later this afternoon :)  I ran just past 3900s on 2300e and turned around.  I'm glad this morning was one of the warmer mornings of the week!

This morning we had a threshold workout at Liberty Park.  I warmed up on my own and then joined my team for the strides and drills.  The workout was 6 minutes on, 75 second recovery, then two sets of 7 minutes with 85 second recovery, then one more 6 minute.  Andrea started them with me and that was helpful to have her close by even if we weren't running exactly together.  The first two the pace was slow, I didn't make it quite to the mile in the first 6 minute set, and my split during the 7 minutes was 6:10.  The next 7 minute set I was at 6:04, and on the last 6 minute set I made it just a little farther than the previous one.  Then we had strides.  I thought they were supposed to be 35 seconds, but before the third one Andrea and I found out they were just supposed to be 25... so we only did 3.  Oops.  For cooldown I did a lap with Jessica and AuraLea, then out and back on 500e to finish with 12 total for the day.
